Brings deep healthcare expertise and history of scaling high-growth tech-enabled services companies

 

ITASCA, IL (January 16, 2018) – LaunchPoint today announced that Jason Brown has joined the company as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the LaunchPoint Board of Directors. Brown takes over day-to-day leadership from Bruce Simpson, who has retired.

Brown is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Morehouse College and received an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Two veteran technologists and healthcare entrepreneurs add depth and perspective to LaunchPoint Board of Directors

 

ITASCA, IL (September 18, 2017) – LaunchPoint, a provider of cloud-based information-driven solutions for healthcare organizations and parent company of Discovery Health Partners and Ajilitee, today announced it has appointed John Bair and Mark Luck Olson to its Board of Directors.

John Bair, LaunchPoint’s CTO, will bring to the Board his deep expertise in technology and information architecture and his long history with the company as a valuable perspective to discussions of vision and strategy. As CTO of LaunchPoint, John leveraged his decades of experience building complex information management systems to architect the industry’s first 100% cloud-based payment integrity platform. John’s distinguished career also includes senior technology roles at Hewlett-Packard, Knightsbridge Solutions, and Amazon.com.

Mark Luck Olson, healthcare strategist and executive advisor, brings to LaunchPoint 25 years of experience driving growth agendas with senior leaders in healthcare. Mark is currently President of the Global Consulting Services for Decision Resources Group (DRG), a 1200-person insights and analytics provider serving health and life sciences. Prior to joining DRG, Mark co-founded ChapterHouse, a healthcare consulting firm, and stayed on as a Partner when it was acquired by Oliver Wyman.  Earlier in his career, Mark served as a Director at Baxter Healthcare, where he met LaunchPoint co-founders Terrence Ryan and Paul Vosters.

LaunchPoint appoints Chief Information Officer

Blend of pioneering technology vision and healthcare expertise make Moe Alkhafaji a perfect fit

 

ITASCA, IL (February 21, 2017) –Discovery Health Partners, the payment integrity division of LaunchPoint, today announced it has appointed Moe Alkhafaji as Chief Information Officer (CIO).

Alkhafaji joins Discovery from HealthEngine, where in the role of CTO he applied his big data and machine learning expertise to rearchitect and transform its healthcare pricing and quality information portal technology.  Prior to that, Alkhafaji was co-founder of Cancer IQ, a cancer risk analysis API that is fully integrated with hospital information systems and which was widely hailed for its ground-breaking technology.  Alkhafaji was also a co-founder and CTO at medCPU, where he architected and developed a combination of solutions that consisted of natural language processing algorithms, machine learning models, and a decision support engine to deliver a state-of-the-art automated medical advisor for large hospital systems.  The company was later acquired by UPMC and Merck.  Alkhafaji has also held roles at Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Argonne National Labs, and Abercrombie and Kent, among other firms.

“Moe’s background as an entrepreneur and pioneer in high-performance computing, informatics, and technology architecture for enterprise healthcare systems makes him a much-valued addition to our team,” said Amy Mosser, COO.  “He understands how to get value out of the data and how to build on what is there to keep our Healthcare Analytics Platform three steps ahead of competitors.”

In his new role, Alkhafaji will oversee technology architecture, platform and solution enhancements, new solution development, and IT operations for Discovery, including its Coordination of Benefits, Medicare Secondary Payer Validation, and Subrogation solutions.  Discovery serves 50+ plans and has been recognized for its fast growth and innovative technology solutions.

Alkhafaji holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Chicago.  He resides with his family in Chicago, Illinois.

LaunchPoint announces new analytics executive

Steve Forcash Brings Expertise in Payment Integrity and Analytics as new Vice President of Analytics

ITASCA, IL (July 25, 2016) – LaunchPoint, a provider of payment integrity and risk management solutions, software, and services for healthcare organizations, today announced it has appointed Steve Forcash as Vice President, Analytics. A healthcare executive with strong experience in data and analytics, Forcash will be responsible for the advancement of LaunchPoint’s analytics vision and strategy operations, while partnering with LaunchPoint’s product strategy, finance, business operations, and information technology teams to assess opportunities, develop learning, and drive analytics adoption rates for LaunchPoint divisions Discovery Health Partners and Ajilitee.

LaunchPoint marked 4,700 percent growth over a five-year period and was named the 100th fastest-growing company on the 2014 Inc. 500 list and #14 in Healthcare.  In addition, the firm was recently ranked the 4th fastest growing Chicago-area company on the 2016 Crain’s Fast Fifty listing.

Since 2012, Forcash has served in senior management positions overseeing analytics and payment integrity operations at Change Healthcare (formerly Emdeon).  During this time, he oversaw gains in revenue per case improvements as well as managed the implementation of medical-record search capability to improve productivity. He also drove double-digit performance improvements to the post-payment audit and recovery organization through the development of analytic-driven claim valuation techniques. Previously, he held analytics leadership roles at MultiPlan, Inc. (formerly Viant), most recently as Vice President of Reporting and Analytics.
